Most budgerigar fanciers in the country were not convinced that the procedures were adequate and wanted to improve them. Therefore, a group of fanciers decided to have form The Budgerigar Society of Pakistan (BSP), in January 2006, to organize shows that operated to International Standards. As of today BSP is the only Society in Pakistan who is promoting exclusively fancy of Exhibition Budgerigar with NOC (Regd. No. RP/2616/L/S/05/966) from concern government departments. |

Our first National Bird Show 2006 was organized on September 24, 2006 at Avari Hotel, Lahore. Large number of families and fanciers attended this show from different parts of the country including Sialkot, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Bahawalpur and other parts of the country. BSP made arrangements to have the General Secretary of the WBO Mr. Ghalib Al-Nasser (UK), for judging this show. After long competition Best in the Show was announced. Media gave good response to our event; video coverage of the event is attached with this letter for your evaluation. The complete winner list is available on the BSP web site; major winners are recognized by the WBO on its web page along with other world wide winners for each year. BSP management believes that these kinds of shows which are organized on international standards & rules will help improving the image of Pakistan abroad

BSP announced (in October 2006) that its Grand Bird Show 2007 on October 21, 2007, which will be judged by Mr. Gerd (Germany) who is not only on WBO Judges Pannel but also work as "
Judge Trainer" and is currently serving this fancy as Chairman WBO.
